Owner does quality oversight in the field as well. This company gas an excellent website and blog, very informative. My doc prescribed certain medicinal mushrooms for my compromised immune system. I found thisbrand and its better than the brand he suggested - I am passing this info on to him.

After learning of mushroom’s powerful immunity building & brain function enhancing qualities, I did more research as to what makes this plant so dynamic. I learned that the “whole fruiting bodies”, aka the part we think of as the mushroom, is the part shown to have all the important health qualities, but that most supplements are largely or wholly made up of the cheaper mushroom mycelium, which has not (to my understanding) been shown to have nearly the same important results. Even companies I usually trust to make quality supplements fail when it comes to creating supplements that contain the most important part of the mushroom.

Very effective mushroom blend. I've been taking it for a couple of months for exposure to radiation (x-rays and CT scan) and anti-cancer purposes.

My doctor told me that I had cells on my cervix that looked suspicious. I was admittedly very scared. I started reading up on ways to clear the HPV and heard about AHCC. Well, it was pretty pricey, so I tried Mushroom Defense Formula instead. I also have active EBV, so I'm hoping it helps with that, too. I've been taking these for about a month, and within the first week I felt better. Stronger, happier, more energetic. I have a chronic immune disease, and this seems to be helping. (It could be a placebo effect, but then I thought, "who cares? If I'm feeling better, that's what matters!) Probably not just a placebo effect though, because the intermittent fevers I normally run appear to be just about gone. I'm becoming a Mushroom fan!

I tell everyone that I take mushrooms!! I get so many compliments on how great I look. I always say it's the mushrooms! Prior to taking mushrooms, I had 3-4 upper respiratory infections every winter. I did have pneumonia in October (2018) and it took 12 long weeks to get over it completely ... but I believe it would have taken a lot longer without the me taking mushrooms. I'm a believer!!!

I believe in eastern AND western medicine. For colds, mild illness, these really do help get rid of it fast! If I take too many, it makes me itch. When feeling a cold or flu coming on I take up to two in the morning and two in the evening. If I take more than that they make me a little itchy.

This supplement seems to really help prevent many of the asthma & allergy issues I have-- anything that helps me to breathe easier is a big plus! I also had my doctor comment that my blood pressure dropped over 20 points in about 4 weeks-- the only thing I had done differently was start taking these mushroom supplements.... Draw you own conclusions, but I am pleased. I have always heard that adding a variety of mushrooms to one's diet is a great health booster, but who has access to so many varieties-- especially on a daily basis? Not me, certainly-- I have no where to go wild 'shroom hunting nearby... this is a very helpful substitute for those of us who cannot get these fresh.

I have chronic sinus problem, along with head colds without success with medicine from the store. My immune system has been shot since I was little and got very, very ill. I’m on immunosuppressants for my RA. I also work in an elementary school. Yeah, I know, not a good mix, but I’m pretty healthy. I attribute it to this. I know when I go off of it I get respiratory illnesses that take about a month of steroids to clear. Interesting tidbit, when I went off for a bit I noticed less “baby hair”. When I started again (because I was missing work and miserable) I started growing hair again. Like, lots. And quick. There was also less hair loss. There’s no other explanation other than this supplement. So, not what they’d planned, but it makes my hair pretty.

I just started taking this over a year ago and I noticed that I never been really sick for the past year. I had some sniffles and some scratchy throat but never had my usual runny nose, sore throat, and feeling lousy to the point I am miserable for a couple of days. I get sick when my four year old daughter gets sick very consistently, but surprise surprise I haven't gotten anything from her this year and my wife has notice that also. I have struggled for years with fatigue. I couldn't bring myself to try the mushroom coffee, so went with this instead. I wouldn't call it my miracle, but I do believe it has made me feel almost normal, energy-wise. I don't struggle to keep my eyes open during the day or get brain fog as I have for so long. This has many beneficial mycology mycelium in it. The ones that I felt I needed more of I bought the separate bottles. This will help with many illnesses and my cancer as well. I have brain cancer- going on 5 years now 3 since surgery and have never done chemo or radiation, only the surgery and while that may not be an option to everyone there are many supplements and supportive immune systems helpers that help your own body to heal it self. Medicinal mushrooms, and herbal medicine and teas are a good place to start. Please talk to a dr or who ever you see but also do your own research.

Well after much insistence from my sister I ordered these for my husband who has cancer. This is the second order so I feel like I can make a unbiased review. My husbands immune system is compromised because of his illness and I can honesty tell you these mushrooms have been thru the test and came out with flying colors. We spent 4 weeks with my grandchildren before leaving on a 3 week cruise and everyone at my daughters including myself got sick EXCEPT my husband! We returned from our cruise and stayed with family, shopping and events and my husband never had so much as a runny nose. We just returned home after taking another trip and guess who is sick! I guess I need to take the mushrooms too! My husband is a testament to fact these things are Little Miracles❤️❤️

As a Type 2 diabetic, I have no immune system. I would generally get sick 4-5 xs a year. I have been taking 1 pill with a droplet of Colloidal Silver every day and have not been sick in almost 6 months. If I feel something coming on, I will take a second pill with an extra drop of silver, and it goes away. I can't praise these items enough.

When it comes to medicinal mushroom supplements I only use Host Defense. I trust his brand 100%. I have been using this supplement for probably 2 years now and it does wonders for the immunity. I buy this immune supplement for my mother who has terminal cancer. She swears she feels more healthy than ever and is less susceptible to picking up viruses and flu bugs. I originally bought it because I get sick a lot and I thought this might help. I'm not really into supplements but thought I would give it a try. After a couple of weeks I noticed (and my husband did too) that I was more "chilled" than normal. Things that might upset me no longer were having the same impact. I felt more calm and laid back in general. I am not an anxious person and I'm not depressed, so these are subtle changes. But, I do feel better mentally. We've been trying to figure out what caused this change and all we can come up with is this supplement. So to this FWIW. I've suffered with immune system problems for most of my life. It's been said about me that all it takes to get me sick is for someone to sneeze in the next town over. When I first decided to try it, I had been dealing with a sinus infection that turned into bronchitis and had taken a full course of antibiotics. I am a very skeptical person by nature and so went into this with my eyes open....and was surprised to find that I started improving almost immediately. I took the 30 count over the course of 15 days, during which I noticed a marked difference in not only my symptoms, but my chronic pain as well! Believing it might be the Placebo Effect, I tried another 15 days without it. During that time, my son brought home a new strain of the flu, which I acquired immediately. Three days later, I was in bad enough shape that I figured I would just order a little early and start taking them anyway. My immune system wasn't responding to the flu at all and I was incredibly sick, with my oxygen levels hovering in the mid 80s. Within 12 hours of taking my first capsule, my immune system kicked into overdrive and initiated the biggest mucus purge this side of Mucinex HQ. After several hours of rather forceful coughing, I got enough mucus out to bring my oxygen back to 99. My fever was gone on its own within 24 hours and I've felt consistent improvement every day. Not to mention, my chronic nerve pain has been better (usually worse when sick) and I have much more mental clarity than previously. While I'm still a skeptic, I'm willing to accept that SOMETHING in this supplement is helping me in a very positive way. I know people write all sorts of overhyped comments on these kinds of supplements, often in the way of "omg miracle drug! Can't live without it!"... but for me this is nothing short of a miracle. I struggle constantly with getting sick— colds, flus, sore throats, allergies, runny nose, etc. On my trip to Seattle this Summer, I got horribly sick with a stomach flu... my throat was so sore that I could not speak. My mentor told me to take 10 (yes ten) of these pills, along with three teaspoons of black elderberry syrup, and within 45 minutes I felt almost completely healed. The reason I was able to take so many of these at once is because it contains relatively small concentrations of each mushroom. Nothing that the doctor has prescribed me, and nothing from the cold/flu section at the pharmacy, has ever come close to giving me the immune strength that this supplement does. It is indeed pricey, but in my opinion well worth the price; if I can avoid going to the doctor or missing work days then the cost is well justified.
